Due to the challenging subsurface materials and initial difficulty in accessing the area, the contractor selected Crux Subsurface to provide specialty geotechnical drilling services. Crux’s scope includes drilling and installing 27 eighteen-foot deep drains to alleviate groundwater pressure on the dam apron. To date, Crux has completed 14 of the 27 drains, and expects to complete the second phase later this year.
