Crux provided drilling and sampling services on the project, obtaining concrete core samples on the downstream face of the dam. 17 six-inch diameter core samples were obtained in total, ranging in depth from 14 to 18 inches. To access the boring sites, Crux installed multiple anchor points along the crest of the dam in line with each setup location.
The results of the geotechnical analysis will provide the necessary information to determine whether the dam needs to be replaced, or simply requires a new maintenance and upgrade plan.
