Crux’s Role
Crux’s scope included design and installation of nine steel cap micropile foundations, as well as installation of seven drilled pier foundations. Specified micropile sites featured challenging drilling and/or challenging access conditions. Sites were accessed using a combination of conventional vehicle and forklift support, and leveling drill platforms were employed to negate the steep, rocky slopes where necessary.
Crux completed one proof test per foundation, and provided fabrication and installation of the galvanized steel pile caps. Scope for drilled pier foundations included procurement of concrete and reinforcing through anchor bolt setting, concrete testing and final construction inspection. Remaining foundations on the alignment were specified as direct embedded, and installed by Crux sister company, JW Didado.
All foundation work was successfully completed within the allotted schedule.
