Crux’s Role

Crux provided geotechnical drilling and sampling services on the spillway of the dam and in surrounding areas to provide baseline site data and assist with potential future remediation needs. A total of 41 borings were completed to depths of between 50 and 200 feet. Due to steep and rugged boring locations, access to the sites was achieved through a combination of track-mounted rigs, crane or winch system, and helicopter support. In-situ packer testing, vibrating wire piezometer installation, and in-place inclinometer instillation were completed at the direction of the client.

Borings were located in steep, rugged terrain, requiring a combination of helicopter, crane and track support.
